1 hour

The time it takes me to walk from my office to the library, go to the bathroom, blow my nose and walk back to work. Due to the "special" rules that are being applied to my work day, I will move my exercise from 4:30ish pm to noonish...just bring a pair of shoes for walking in my backpack of life. Then i can better conform to the standards and policies established solely for my benefit.

drink more water

In my quest to drink more water and my desire to not overpay for soda, I might just give soda up...stop drinking it except on "special occasions" (as defined by me) or with whiskey :). The cheapest soda in town is Checkers and I've been to, probably every other grocery store in town, for the items that they carry at the cheapest price. And I don't really want to go to TWO grocery stores in one night, so I just haven't had any soda. I [heart] Coke Zero...not as much as coffee, but close. But it's been at least 4 days since I've had soda...and while I still think about it, it hasn't been that big of a deal and I've also been drinking more water which is great...and I know myself well enough to know that if there's soda in the house, I will pick it over water most of the time. Also, I just passed a platter of sweet pastries in the kitchen at work and while I had a double take, I did not have a pastry - not even half :) And now that the days ar

new year | new something...

This past weekend involved 3-days of swim meet. It was in Topeka so I got to sit in the crowd and cheer for my kid like a regular parent :). But it does tend to dominate your weekend. Luckily it's winter and there's still lots of snow on the ground so I'm not sure what else I'd be doing...well I would be arting, but it's cool. John got best times in 7 out of 9 events, one event he hadn't swam before so no time to beat and the other he took time off his last swim, but not off his best time ever in the event. He is 2 one hundredths of a second from breaking a minute on his 100 Free which is very exciting :) He's gone 58 secs. in practice, but not in a meet...next time :) Other things I'm planning for the week are: Grocery shopping - yeah seems like not a big deal, but with the economics of it all one has to start implementing strategy into the exercise. On Wednesday I should hear if I'm accepted (or not) into the ARC Gallery 's Materiality s

i've stumbled...2 days sans art projects...

in my defense i sit at a computer all day designing and production arting work for the man. and then of course that argument totally holds up for the other side, i make stuff all day for someone else, take a few minutes of my time to make something for me, the artist... analog is an interesting theme... i like most art/doodles of cassette tapes. and legos, saw some cool sketches of legos somewhere. i should like, collect those images and links in a blog or something :P so anyway, i was looking at this great business card site, really great! cardonizer and found the business card That Kate Creates and went to her etsy store and saw this awesome piece and only $5! though i thought she was from KC but she is from London :) You can click on the image to get to her store and check her other awesome hand drawn shrinky dink brooches. Great stuff :)

Happy 2010!

You may have noticed I'm doing a "daily art/design" piece. Sometimes they may be part of an existing project, sometimes they will be new. The first and third were part of the Art House Co-op 's Sketchbook Project. A brief history Currently in it's fourth incarnation, The Sketchbook Project exhibited in October of 2007 with 500 artists participating from around the world. For Volume 3, the The Sketchbook Project toured to 9 different galleries and venues around the East Coast, connecting almost 3,000 artists together through the project. Project goal The library will house thousands of sketchbooks from artists that reside all over the globe. We'll be touring around the United States with the collection starting in April, followed by a permanent location for the library in 2010. Confirmed Exhibition Dates January 29 - 30, 2009 Art House Gallery 309 Peters St Atlanta, GA 30313 February 19 - 21, 2010 303Grand 303 Grand St. Brooklyn, NY 11211 Ap
