My domain is live, with a decent little site if I do say so myself :) I used a site called weebly which is a lot like iWeb, but for me it's easier...not sure everyone would agree with that. It's still a work in progress, but check it out if you like: filthEdesign fine art & design by emily eakes

esquire magazine Originally uploaded by filthEdesign I submitted 3 designs and they didn't specify in the communication which submittal they chose as a runner-up, but I'm guessing this one. It's the strongest, most transformative design I submitted. It sort of blows a hole in the existing paradigm :)

the crazy...

Life is close to overwhelming these days... The company I work for was purchased by another and that's always a cue for BIG CHANGES. I'm still employed for now which automatically makes me more able to roll with the punches...and just trying to do the best design work I've ever done! I'm also starting to get into some freelance and commission work again - I'd love to have a thriving business of my own if other things don't work out... John has a swim meet in Columbia this weekend, which should be a nice break except that we can't really afford it :) good thing we're easily impressed by unlimited high speed internet and cable tv :) John has been swimming really well this session - not sure if it's the team change and the great coach to swimmer ratio or if it's because he's 14 and has been swimming competitively for over 4 years now. He has at least one DI time already and should easily be able to get 2 more and I wouldn't be surprised...

Had a great weekend... Spent Saturday preparing for the lola Giant show. Also did some last minute low budget xmas shopping for the boy. The economy has been knocking us around pretty steadily for the past 2 years but we're trying to keep things "normal" for the boy. Jason worked on the booth display also - it turned out really well...I spent the last 15 minutes of the show looking at my display and layout. Jackass move of the day: I didn't photograph it. Hopefully there will be another opportunity to participate in a lola event. Sunday we got up at 8. Jason drilled the last holes in the display and I drank coffee and gathered everything :) Then off to Van Go at 10 to set up. It was a great show. The level of work was great - had one person say that the stuff they were seeing looked like it could be in stores :) Lots of talented women in Lawrence. Overheard one of the ladies say that there were a lot of applications for the show - so I feel very privileged t...
